The Trail Blazers additionally secured their first game since the arrests, with Brazil-born Splitter stepping in as interim coach in Chauncey's absence and leading the team to a convincing 139 to 119 victory over the Warriors.

"We all had positive times with Billups and his coaching style," Tiago remarked. "Our thoughts are with him and his loved ones but our focus is on the game."

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver 'Disturbed' by Arrests

Speaking about the detentions for the initial occasion, league head Adam Silver said he was "very upset" by the incidents of the past few days.

"Nothing is more critical to the league and supporters than the integrity of the game," he told a broadcaster. "And so I felt uneasy. It was very upsetting."

Silver further mentioned an league probe into Rozier's conduct in March 2023, when there was "aberrational betting" in a match he participated for the Hornets versus the Pelicans, discovered no wrongdoing.

"It was brought to our attention by the regulators and the betting companies," he added.

"We investigated that situation and were open regarding it. Although there was the unusual wagering, we, honestly, found no evidence.

"Federal authorities has subpoena power... [it] can impose penalties, can do all kinds of things that the NBA is unable to.

"Therefore, we've been cooperating since then. Naturally, what they announced recently was an indictment.

"And two and a half years after, he still hasn't been convicted of anything, in justice to Terry.

"Obviously, it appears unfavorable, but he's been suspended, and so it is a compromise here between upholding rights and conducting an inquiry."
