Two men have been charged related to a luggage theft where a believed to be capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and two counts of using a harmful chemical, as confirmed by court officials.

This legal action stems from an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A toddler was caught up in the incident during the incident. Several persons required hospital care and were subsequently released.

The incident – which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
